About The Goats

The Occasional Goat is a Scouser-turned-Londoner in his 30s, married to a Geordie-turned-Londoner in her 30s (The Occasional Nanny Goat). We’ve both lived in London for the last 10 years or so.
Our daughter (The Occasional Kid, half Geordie, half Scouser, all saaf Londoner) was born in Tooting in 2006.
And we all want to move to New Zealand. Not that The Occasional Kid has much say in the matter…
The Occasional Goat has previously been known – online or otherwise – as Christopher Graeme, Chris Gardener, chris AT swopaplot and King Of The Show, for reasons that for now shall remain obscure. He has also for some reason been known by his “real name”. Over the years The OG has made himself useful, occasionally made himself money, and probably made a bit of a nuisance of himself as a secretary, a journalist, a drunk, a member of the Labour Party, a database administrator, an IT trainer, a trade union shop steward, a comedy performer, a web developer, a musician, a project manager and a writer of songs, comedy and “topical haiku”. To improve quality of life he recommends therapy, Paul McKenna and beer – but not necessarily all at the same time or in that order.
He hopes that this blog might help him collate some of that previous stuff to bring some long-longed-for order to his past – and record the rolling beginnings of his – and his family’s – future. One day he’d quite like to get around to writing a film script or five. Or maybe a book. Or a hit single. An Oscar or an Ivor Novello would be nice. Ho hum. In the meantime he might become a farmer. Whodathoughtit? Let’s say he’s keeping his options open.
(The blog at occasionalgoat.net and its supporting media express the potentially wildly varying opinions, moods, musings and experiences of The Occasional Goat, his family and reader. And that’s about it.)
If you would like to contact him, please email goat AT occasionalgoat DOT net.
See you on the otherside of the world. I hope.
